Metal backplates are more than just looks, they provide protection.  For those that haven't seen it before, the pistol made by SAR is a copy of a Glock.  Whether a double charge from the factory or the reloading bench, the results can be the same.  Full metal backplates offer protection that will prevent the possibility of the firing pin from penetrating the factory backplate.  Our backplate is made from 17-4 stainless and melonite finished, just like our slides and offer superior impact resistance compared to other steels or aluminum.
